About Level
Your routes stay yours
Routes you import or record are stored in this browser on this device. Level does not upload them unless you choose to share a route publicly.
Public route sharing
Public routes can be viewed, saved, and exported by anyone. Level trims 150 metres from both ends on the server before a route is published, but this is not a guarantee of anonymity. Review the route shape before sharing.
You can remove a public listing from the same browser used to publish it. Keep browser site data intact until you unpublish any routes you own.
Location and privacy
When you open Level, your browser may ask to use your location so the map can center on you. You can decline and still move the map and search any area. Your location is used to center the map or find nearby routes when you choose those features.
Your personal routes stay in this browser on this device. If you publish a route, its route details are stored so other runners can view it. A short section is removed from each end before publishing, but this cannot guarantee privacy. Check the route carefully before sharing.
Using Level with other apps
Level works with GPX route files exported from compatible running apps, including Strava. Level is independent and is not affiliated with Strava.
To report a public route or request a review, open that route and choose “Report route.”
Your routes, your pace.
Save favorite routes, record a run, or explore routes shared by other runners.
Have a route in another app? Export it as a GPX file to bring it into Level. Your route stays private unless you publish it.

Anyone using Level may discover, view, and export a published route. Level trims about 150 m from each end before upload, but that does not guarantee anonymity. Routes can still reveal home, work, or regular habits. Review the map and only share a route you are comfortable making public.
GPS recording
Recording uses your browser's location permission. Keep Level open while recording.

GPS recording may pause if your phone locks the screen or the browser moves to the background. Keep the app visible for the most reliable tracking.
